Purpose: A spherometer is a tool used to make fine measurements
Description: An object is placed under the screw, which is then wound down until it closes firmly on the object. A ruler to one side is used to approximate the measurement. A disk on top of the screw has finer delineations to achieve very accurate measurements. Two large models of this instrument are available for demonstrations.
