Purpose: Shows standing waves.
Description: A small vibration device with a string attached. Attach a weight to the free end of the string and hang it over the pulley. Connect the vibration device to a function generator and turn it on. Adjust the frequency of the function generator and the length of the string to get standing waves. Alternatively, attach the string to a fixed object and vibrate it yourself.
