Centrifugal Force

Reference: M104
Category: Mechanics
Purpose: Demonstrates the centripetal force on and centrifugal reaction by a constrained rotated object.
Description: A calorimeter (bucket) about half-full of water is rotated in a vertical plane on the end of a string. The centripetal force provided by your arm keeps the water bucket moving in a circle, while the centrifugal reaction keeps the water in the bottom of the bucket, as long as the rotational velocity is sufficient. Show that the water does not spill.
