Purpose:
Description: 1) Large U-tube containing coloured water (KMNO4). Desk lamp. Clean tube after use.
2) Large U-tube containing mercury, CuS04 solution in one limb and KMn04 in the other. Adjust until mercury at same height in both limbs and compare heights of pink and blue solutions.
3) Fancy-shaped communication vessels containing coloured liquid rising to same height to each. Fairly obvious but pretty. N.B. Don't leave KMn04 solution standing in glass vessels.
