Fluid Pressure

Reference: HY5
Category: Hydrostatics
Purpose: Shows the dependence of fluid pressure at a point on the weight of fluid above it.
Description: 1) Measuring cylinder with hole and bung near base. Grease bung slightly with Vaseline. Run water in. With correct adjustment, bung pops out just as water level reaches top. (Cylinder stands on block of wood in long metal trough.) 2) Syringe, terminating bulb with holes to show pressure exerts a force in all direction (Pascal's law). Warn class to protect notes.
