Purpose: Simple pendulums.
Description: There are three simple pendulums. (1) A steel ball is hung from a Perspex frame by a piece of string. (2) A cone-shaped mass is suspended from a wooden frame. This pendulum is unique in that the wooden backboard prevents the mass from oscillating in three dimensions, it can only swing in a single plane. (3) A red ball is suspended from a large black retort stand by a piece of string.
