Purpose: To show that a solution of Iodine in carbon disulphide, opaque to visible light, is transparent to infrared.
Description: Small piece of black paper starts smoking and charring if held at the invisible focus; matchhead bursts into flame (Doubtful if this experiment will work without the arc source, which is no longer available.)
