Purpose: Demonstrates that acceleration due to gravity is not dependent on mass or shape.
Description: A metal disc and a piece of paper are placed in separate glass tubes. When there is air in the tubes the paper flutters down, while the metal disc drops quickly. When the air is evacuated from the tubes (using a rotary pump), both fall with the same acceleration. The vacuum pump is kept in the gallery of prep room B.
